Why I Became a Healing Practitioner
My name is Shan Yi, and I’m a singing bowl therapist.
After I began studying singing bowls and exploring sound healing, I realized that for many people, fatigue isn’t just physical exhaustion.
We’re so busy with work, daily life, and family that our bodies are already exhausted, yet the voices in our minds never stop. Unfinished tasks, emotions we can’t let go of, and worries about the future often resurface repeatedly.
I, too, have experienced this state myself.
Until one day, a singing bowl was gently struck, and its sound slowly filled the space. I simply listened quietly, feeling the resonance fade away and my breath gradually steady.
In that moment, I realized that healing doesn’t necessarily mean immediate change.
Sometimes, healing is simply about giving yourself a chance to pause, to listen to your body, and to hear your heart’s true needs.
Later, I began studying singing bowl therapy and sharing this experience with others.
Some people gradually relax as they listen to the sound; others release pent-up emotions; and still others have told me:
“This is the first time in a long time that I’ve truly rested.”
Everyone experiences the sound of the singing bowl differently. Some find peace, some release emotions, and others finally allow themselves to do nothing for a while.
My goal isn’t to tell you how to live your life, nor is it to solve all your problems for you. Instead, through singing bowl therapy, I aim to create a safe, quiet space for you.
A space where you can temporarily set aside your busyness and return to your own breath and body.
If you’ve been feeling tired or overwhelmed lately, please give yourself a little time.
Close your eyes and listen carefully.
Perhaps in the sound of the singing bowls, you’ll rediscover the part of yourself that life has overlooked.
